In my opinion this part of the terms shuld be removed and replaced with something to the effect that if people don't sease to harrass other members then the sites ignore feature should be used. If you don't wish to invoke this given right then stop wining about what is being said about you.
I find it hard to accept that I as a user who has freedom of speach both in the world as well as on a site that says it will not police my views can still be banned for something that any user can avoid by using the ignore features that have been implemented throughout this site.
I doubt that the staff will agree with this opinion, but why should we have a feature available that if not used and a complaint made we can then be banned?

Actually I think that's an interesting point you bring up there. I think that when the site first started up, back before all of the ignore features were implemented that piece of text had much more relevants. Though of course that piece of text hadn't actually been written then but the point I'm trying to make is that back then, they were the guide lines that community leaders were opperating under and so when it came time to introduce a terms of service, that rule just got added in.
Usually we do our best to recommend that users do put each other on ignore if there is a problem however, and this is the important part in answer to your question Kev, we would still consider it harassment if a user for example asked another user to copy and paste a comment so that the ignore feature was gotten round. So while you might not like the fact that it is there, that is why it remains.
As I say though, we have discussed this point at great length over the passed few months and have agreed that the ignore feature is there for a reason and people should use it. Just know though that getting other users to pass messages on won't be tollerated.

Dan I agree with you, I don't ask people to pass on messages if I know I'm being ignored by a person, because I don't see the point, and have to agree that it is grounds for a warning and then a ban.
Never actually thought about it like that, so yeh, it does make sense. Perhaps worded differently though? A bit of an upgrade?
agreed with your original kevin. It's pointless, had I just been put on ignore by jenny, my first banning would never have happened. If not for the ignore feature kevin, you might not have had to deal with jenny's shit today...hmmm, is it just me? or is there something in commonhere...
first of all, it wasnt me that reported you that night garet second think before you do shit I don't ignore people except when they truely piss me off and furthermore being most ignored is not something to be proud of so i am not giving you that pleasure fuck off
Jenni the point is though you sat there threatening to report people for doing what is stated in point 3 of the rules, an yet you won't ignore people. so you have to learn to live with it, it's your choice.
